I wish for chatbox. The chatroom thing is difficult and like...no one uses it lol. Plus we're al generally on at different times so a chatroom is a little useless since nothing is 'saved' like in a chatbox

I'm happy to add one if everyone wants one. What would you use it for, though? The cbox at the old site seemed to always just say "hey", "hey" and unanswered messages. Why not PM someone or start a conversation thread?

Well, because the site looks empty without one. xD And besides, cboxes can be sometimes fun to use if you're online at the same time as another person. And less hassle when you want to use it, as opposed to a PM.

I would also like to have a CBox, it's always a hassle for me to check the Chat Room, and no one's in there when I happen to be, so it's a tad boring for me. :\

I think the chatroom would be more useful for timed "parties" or "discussions" rather than general chit chat that only lasts a few lines. A C-Box might be beneficial for those only having a few minutes to talk or ask questions, and people can read C-Box histories, so far back anyway. We could possibly put one on the top or bottom of the forums, not too tall and perhaps not quite as wide as the forum itself. I don't mind, but I'm not accepting or rejecting this. If y'all want a C-Box, and Mike is willing to create it, then I leave the decisions to you.

EDIT (2/24/10): Whether or not we get a C-Box, we will retain the chatroom. (Of course, if it's possible to get one which can remember conversations, to a point, it might be better.) The chatroom would be something more like a place for planned events, ones planned ahead of time and for specific purposes.

Well.. I'm on the pro-cbox side. It would be much easier to just check on the cbox for messages like "I've replied to your post," or "Everyone, I'm going to be a little inactive because..." than to have to check my PMs or create a thread stating it (in that order xD). And because the "view recent posts" option isn't available until I log in, that would still force me to log in and not just look at the forum for something new (unlike proboards, which lets guests see them, and therefore doesn't require logging in), so being lazy isn't a problem. xD I think this goes for everyone.

Besides, timed discussions never work when nobody's on at the same time, most of the time. xD

Hi everyone!

Just letting you know that I am currently working on an alternative to a cbox that I think everyone would prefer. I will keep you posted on how I am progressing.
